Membership in SMA is open to any manufacturer of window screens, swinging screen doors or sliding screen doors, manufacturer or assembler of sections and hardware used in the fabrication of these products, and weavers of insect screening. In addition, memberhip is open to any supplier of goods and services to the screen industry as well as window makers who are also screen makers.
The dues for all members is based upon annual dollar shipments of all window screens, swinging screen doors or sliding screen doors, and any manufacturer or assembler of sections and hardware used in the fabrication of the foregoing products.
Since its founding in l955, the Screen Manufacturers Association has represented the window and door screen industry to its diverse markets in a dynamic, aggressive and proactive manner. SMA has been the vigorous and vital force in the creation of SMA standards as well as other standards that meet the requirements of various governmental and code entities where they are referenced.
